Upload guidelines

These are the standards a moderator applies when reviewing the queue. Following them is the difference between an upload going live in an hour and being rejected.

Rights

• Upload only work you made or clearly hold the rights to. Screenshots from games and films, frames from anime, and images taken from ArtStation, Pinterest or Reddit are not yours to share.
• “I found it on Google” is not a licence. If you cannot name where it came from, don’t upload it.
• Repeated copyright infringement may result in a permanent ban. See Copyright & DMCA.

Quality

• No heavy compression artefacts. If you can see blocking around edges, find a better source.
• No watermarks, logos or borders, including your own. Your name goes on your profile, not across the image.

Content

• Nothing sexually explicit.
• Nothing hateful, harassing, or promoting violence against a group or person.
• Nothing illegal, and nothing depicting real harm.
• No advertising. A wallpaper that exists to promote a product is spam.

Titles and tags

• Describe what it actually is. “Fog over pine forest at dawn” beats “wallpaper HD 4K best free”.
• Tag honestly, five to ten tags. Keyword stuffing gets uploads rejected. It makes search worse for everyone, including you.
• Mark your upload as AI-generated if you used AI to create it. Plenty of people want AI art; plenty want to filter it out. Both are fine, being dishonest is not.

Spam

• Don’t upload the same wallpaper multiple times with only minor edits.
• Mass-uploading low-quality or unrelated images may result in account restrictions.

Duplicates

Every upload is fingerprinted. Re-uploading something already here, even resized, recompressed or slightly cropped, will be detected and rejected automatically.
